wehn user access google.com he gets "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network.

I need a solution

There are quite few users receives error on Google page stating as "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?

Spam Server being blocked by Messaglabs

Good Day,

Our SpamExperts servers are being blocked by messagelabs for some reason, we urgently need these unblocked and whitelisted as clients in our hosted exchange environement are unable to send important emails to clients using messagelabs.

Is there a support line or portal that we can use to escalate?

Emails not accepted / Port Timeout

Hi,

since we moved our mailserver to new hardware (including new IP address) all mails to messagelabs.com servers are being blocked or rather it looks like the packages are being dropped since I don't even get any response (telnet to port 25 from other servers respond with the proper welcome string).

According to http://ipremoval.sms.symantec.com/lookup/ the server IP does not have a bad reputation (The IP address you submitted, 136.243.174.235, does not have a negative reputation and therefore cannot be submitted for investigation.) Could you please check on your side and let me know what exactly the issue is since we do not event get a rejection notice to follow up upon.

False positive 553 - Message Filtered

Greetings - 

All of my companies emails are being bounced by any customer that uses Symantec cloud / MessageLabs with the following error message - 

Error Details
Reported error:
550 5.0.350 Remote server returned an error -> 553 Message filtered. Refer to the Troubleshooting page at;http://www.symanteccloud.com/troubleshooting for more;information. (#5.7.1)

We use Office 365. Also, any of these customers also get their emails bounced if they try to send to us. I have submitting sample emails following these instructions - https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH233678.html#Instructions

Pull definitions from SEPM

Hi,

I am in the process of setting up an SEPM that does not have an outbound internet connection and I am struggling to find out how I can get these definitions, downloading them every couple of days is not a long term solution. We already have a separated network which has an SEPM with an outbound internet connection, and I can pitch the need for access between the new SEPM that doesn’t have outbound internet to the SEPM that doesn’t have outbound internet.

Is it possible for one SEPM to pull definitions from another SEPM? If so is there a knowledge base article detailing these instructions?

If it isn’t possible is there a way around this situation?

Email being blocked

We usually communicate with our client by email. Our email is personal emails have domain @tinypulse.com.

Since 2 days ago we have this issue:

553 Message filtered. Refer to the Troubleshooting page at http://www.symanteccloud.com/troubleshooting for more information. (#5.7.1)

We forwarded few false positive samples as an email attachment to CLOUDfeedback@feedback-87.brightmail.com already.

Please assist ASAP because it's blocking our company.

where to see what symantec firewall is blocking?

I need a solution

I have a small group of women in our BDC department, two of which are using Windows 10.

For them to be able to download / retrieve their emails from our CRM server they have to "turn OFF" the firewall within Symantec EndPoint Protection.

Where can I go to see what's being blocked by the firewall so I can add an exception so they don't keep turning off the firewall? They keep turning it off for 5 hours at a time.

I ran the Firewall History Reports and nothing is being reported.

Our Windows 7 users aren't having this problem. We're using Windows 7 pro 64bit and Windows 10 pro 64bit.

SEP Linux - liveupdate.symantec.com

I need a solution

Hello,

I'm having reverse-proxy setup for Linux clients which runs on 8014 port. From the console, I was seeing that clients downloaded updates and everything was fine but I was not aware that port 8014 was blocked (443 was open ) which I figured out accidentally. Somehow Linux machines were able to connect to liveupdate.symantec.com ... how on earth it's possible? (I mean good though at least they get updates ;). LU policy for Linux clients is set with http://mysepmserver:8014/luproxy

Logs for when a feature was disabled

I need a solution

I'm wondering if there is a log for when a specific feature gets disabled - in this case Network Threat protection - I've gone through all the client managment logs and filted by "all" rather than 1 day, along with all NTP logs but nothing really corilates with the feature being turned off.

SEP: Restore Files from Quarantine in Linux

I have not had this issue come up yet, but I need to know how to restore files from quarantine in Linux.  Everything I find uses Windows, but we run CentOS.  I found the quarantine in /var/symantec/Quarantine, but the files are changed so that they cannot simply be moved.  I am currently testing SEP in Linux and need to know that if it quarantines a part of customer data, it can be recovered.  An exception would also need to be added for the file.  As I understand it, this can only be done through SEPM.  Is there an easier way?

Basically, I need this article for Linux.

SEP Client info not being updated on SEPM

SEPM and SEP client: v14 Mp2

Running SQL DB

Clients are being updated and are up to date, however in the SEPM console, the client info (eg,current virus def, last time status changed has not been updated) , I have restarted the SEPM and the services. On the SEP client I can connect and there is a green icon, the logs show that I connected to the SEPM and received an update and this shows on the monitor logs, but still nothing changes for the client info when searched for the machine.

Hello,

we are trying to configure VIP symantec as stated in topic name (only for users with VIP credential).

We are using this article:

it states that we put HKLM\Software\Symantec\CP\Options\EnablePartial2FA

EnablePartial2FA is of type String with a value of 1

But there is no such location in registry at Enterprise Gateway server. Are we looking at right place? There is only "Wow6432Node" with symantec folder and VIp Enterprise Gateway folder as subtree.

Bonjour,

Je viens d'effectuer un SymDiag sur mon serveur Symantec SEPM 14 sous Windows 2016.

J'ai également installé le client SEP 14

En effectuant un diagnostic, Symdiag me dit qu'un ou plusieurs jeux de définitions Symantec Endpoint Protection sont endommagés, je clique alors sur le bouton "Corriger maintenant" et là j'ai l'impression qu'il tourne en boucle. Il bloque sur "Attente de la réacquisition des définitions (environ 15 minutes). Là il tourne depuis 40 mn et rien ne se passe.

Mise à part çà, tout semble pourtant bien fonctionner côté SEP ou SEPM.

Question 1 : Que puis-je faire ?

Question 2 : cela concerne les définitions locales propres à SEP ou les définitions distribuées via SEPM à l'ensemble des clients ?

every month I get an .xlsx file with list of .exe and .dll file that I need to block in SEP the list include the MD5 and SHA256 of the files. until now I insert the list manually.

How can I import this file\list? how do I convert this list to be compatible with SEP?

Le Serveur SEPM ne synchronise pas avec le serveur AD, quand je clique droite sur le groupe pour forcer la synchronisation l'option "Sync Now" est grisé (désactivé)

Suite à ce problème les rapports de la console sont erronés, des clients qui sont connectés sont affiché offline dans la console

Hello all!

In my organization I manage about 5 servers, each with varying types of operating systems. I'm in the process of trying to get my Supervisor to approve the upgrade from v12.1.* licenses to v14, due to end of life issues and moving on with antiquated software. Unfortunately due to the number of Windows XP clients at each site (and these have to remain, sorry!) I still need to be able to manage and install 12.1.* clients.

Through my research, I know that the v14 console will still be able to manage the v12 clients, so that isn't a concern of mine. The concern that I have is will I still somehow be able to download the 12.1.* clients somehow using the SEP 14 license?

My concern is if something happens that I need to find a package for 12.1.* to redistribute to those clients and won't be able to.

Multiple reports not matching

I need a solution

We have a production and a DR SEP12 server.  Each has it's own database and the databases are replicated.  When we configure reports, we get two different reports, one from production and one from DR.  The reports never match exactly and one report may have clients that the other report doesn't have.  Why is that?  Is there a way that we can get one single report with ALL of the accurate information?  We are using this reports for regulatory compliance and we need consistent, accurate reports.  Thanks.

Hi Group!

We've search high and low with no avail for help with this so hoping someone here can help.

We are looking to upgrade our SEP installs for Mac from v12 to v14 via JAMF Pro Casper. The installer files we've received for this task from our network admin include:

1) Symantec Endpoint Protection installer.app (which we cannot push via Casper. Has to be a .pkg)

2) SEP.mpkg

3) SEPSku.mpkg

We cannot push # 1 because its a .app. When we tried installing # 2, the SEP.mpkg package, within our test environment, it did not force a restart. So when we launched the application it was totally useless till we restarted manually. Even after a manual restart, totally useless. We then scratched our heads and installed # 3, the SEPSku.mpkg package, on top of # 2 still no force of restart. SEP application still useless. Restarted manually, again. Once we did, we were able to update successfully. 3 restarts to get it working!

But still problems...

We're not seeing the little SEP menu item shield near date and time. And its sitting idle unmanaged. Not good!

Any thoughts on what's going on?

# 1, the Symantec Endpoint Protection installer.app WORKS GREAT! but for our purposes, we cannot use.
