Hi everyone , my this forum post in in regard to the following forum post :-
www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/sep-client-not-getting-version-upgrade#comment-11432511
Now I tried to deploy the 12.1.6 MP2 exported package with the restart setting set to " No restart " and pushed it via SCCM on the 12.1.3 endpoints. The package was deployed on the clients succesfully , however I encounterd the following behavior.
1) Clients did appear on SEPM console but as offline , though I was able to PING the clients from SEPM
2) When I double clicked on the client in SEPM console , the client was incorrectly identied to be a vista client though client is a windows 7 client
3) it showed that Installation failed on the client as operating system is not compatible , " you cannot install 32-BIT client on 64-BIT machine which is not the case
4) It is showing this same behavior for 5 endpoints on which I deployed via SCCM
Now my question is once the client is rebooted it will show the correct information in the SEPM console ? If I am not mistaken then reboot is mandatory for upgrade but even if machine is not reboot it shouldnt render this behavior . What are your thoughts about this ? Thanks
