I have a new Windows 7 (professional 64 bit) Laptop, on whihc I have succesfully installed and run PGP.
The whle hard disk is encrypted just fine.
I have an external hard disk, which was encrypted and used on ny ol xp machine (32 bit).
If I plug the external disk into my win 7 laptop, the laptop freezes. I can still move the mouse cursor, but click don't do anythng. It doesn't respond to the keyboard at all (not even ctrl-alt-del), and the only way to use the laptop is to hold the power button down till it shuts down.
I have found that if I have the external disk already plugged in when I start the laptopm, it DOES all work OK, but it sees the external disk as an 'internal' one.
How do I get the external disk to work porperly with my laptop? (I'm assuming that it's not suposed to lock the laptop up when I plug it in.
In case it help with a solution, the laptop locks BEFORE the PGP password screen pops up.
