Symantec Drive Encryption

I need a solution

Hi,

Purchased recently Samsung Series 9 laptop (using BIOS not UEFI).

I was able to install Symentec Drive Encryption. However, when I try to encrypt the entire disk. I get an error stating the disk is not supported.

My hard drive is configure as a basic disk. I shrank the volume and created another partition. The new parition cannot even be seen by Symantec.

Under disk management I notice the System Reserved Parition is "EFI". Im running Windows 7 Pro x64. Would the EFI parition be the reason I cannot encrypt the hard drive ?

On my other laptop HP ProBook I had no problem installing and encrypting my hard drive. There is no EFI partition

Thanks,

Paul
