Is SEP 12.1 compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise?

Could someone let me know if SEP 12.1 is compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise?

I'd like to install SEP 12.1.1000.157 on the below server.

OS Version:                6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Model:              VMware Virtual Platform
System Type:               x64-based PC
Processor(s):              4 Processor(s) Installed.

I checked with TECH163806 however it doesn't clearly show whether the Enterprise edition with SP1 is supported or not.
